My Skincare Journey: Why I Built NK Skin Collection

For as long as I can remember, skincare was my little moment of peace. Morning and night, it grounded me, helped me feel good about myself, and gave me a sense of routine when life felt chaotic. But somewhere along the way, the products I trusted started working against me. My skin was breaking out, becoming irritated, and reacting to almost everything I put on it.

Like most people, I blamed stress, hormones, and busy routines. I told myself it was “just a phase,” but deep down I knew something wasn’t right.

The Turning Point

When my skin hit its lowest point, I started researching, really researching.
I discovered how complicated, overloaded, and misleading the skincare world had become. Layering ten products, using harsh actives daily, fragrances hidden behind “clean” labels, and formulas packed with cheap fillers… It was no wonder my skin was struggling.

I realised I didn’t need more steps… I needed better foundations.

That’s when everything changed.

Why I Created NK Skin Collection

NK Skin Collection was born from one goal: to strip skincare back to its foundations and rebuild it with high-quality, barrier-friendly ingredients that actually work.

I wanted formulas that were:

• Made with proven, gentle actives

• Calming, strengthening, and effective without irritation

I wanted simplicity, not a 12-step routine. And I wanted results that came from consistency, not confusion.

From Teacher to Founder

Before launching NK Skin Collection, I spent years as a primary school teacher in Dubai and Al Ain. Teaching was meaningful, but the lack of creativity and the emotional load began affecting my mental health. Leaving the classroom was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but it led me towards something that has given me a sense of purpose I never expected.

Helping people rebuild confidence in their skin is what I was meant to do.
