How I Keep My Skin Hydrated in Constant Air Conditioning
Share
Living in Dubai means air conditioning is part of everyday life, from home to the car to the office. I used to think it was harmless, but I started noticing how much it was drying my skin out. My cheeks would feel tight, my lips dull, and makeup just wouldn’t sit right.
AC doesn’t just cool the air, it also pulls moisture out of it, which means your skin loses hydration faster. Over time, that can weaken your skin barrier, cause flakiness, and even trigger more oil production as your skin tries to compensate.
Now, I’ve learned how to keep my skin balanced and hydrated, even in constant AC. Here’s what helps:
1. Hydration is key, inside and out
I drink at least 2.5L of water a day and never skip my Revive Hydration Serum at night. It’s packed with Aloe Vera and Hyaluronic Acid, which draw moisture into my skin and keep it plump.
2. Always lock in moisture
I use the Hydrate & Guard Day Moisturiser SPF 20 in the morning and Nourish Night Time Ceramide Cream at night. Both seal hydration in and protect against dryness from AC.
3. Avoid harsh, foaming cleansers
Years ago, I thought a squeaky-clean face meant my skin was clean, but really, it meant stripped. Now I use the Cleanse & Clarify Gentle Cleanser, which cleans without drying.
4. Don’t forget your barrier
Ceramides and gentle actives (like Bakuchiol) help repair and strengthen your barrier, so your skin doesn’t lose moisture as easily.
I’ve noticed that when I stay consistent with these steps, my skin doesn’t just look better, it feels comfortable again. No tightness, no dullness, just hydrated, healthy skin, even in constant AC.
Because glowing skin isn’t about the weather, it’s about how well you protect it.
